LODGES Queen City of Shelbyville Comes to -Two Grand Masters on Roll Queen City lodge Daughters of Rebekah, of Shelbyville, consolidated Monday night with Eden lodge Daughters of Rebekah, of Windsor.

The ceremonies were held in Odd Fellows hall and Mrs. Williams of Salem, state president of the order, was here ir. person to attend to the work of consolidation. Sixteen members of Queen City lodge came into Eden lodge, bringing the membership of the latter up to 96. For the last few years Queen City lodge has lost in membership, and only a few faithful members kept the lodge alive.

On the other hand, Eden lodge is alive and pushing, and is noted for the excellence of its work and its social features. So when the Shelbyville folks decided to surrender their charter it was but natural that they should turn to Windsor for a lodge home. Eden lodge now boasts on its membership roll two past grand masters, John W. Yantis and Aubrey L. Yantis.

The former was already a member of Eden lodge, while the latter came in by the consolidation. Officers of the consolidated lodge were elected as follows: Belle Sampson, N. G. Doris Hartsell, V. G.

At the close there was a social hour, during which sandwiches, pickles, pie, and coffee were served. The lodge meets on first and third Tuesday nights of each month in Odd Fellows hall. SOCIETY Engagement Announced The engagement has been announced of Carl Edmiston of -Michigan City, and Miss Dorothy Moore of Bedford, Ind. The wedding is to take place March 16. The couple will reside at Michigan City, where Mr.

Edmiston has a good position. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Edmiston of.

Windsor, and visited his parents here Christmas week. Dinner Party Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Edwards entertained Mr.

Most Widely Read The most widely read writers in Windsor are the writers of the ads in The Gazette. And it speaks well for the stores that this is so. SCHOOLS Teacher Ill Miss Bernice Jones, who teaches in Shelbyville grade school, was unable for duty the fore part of the week because of illness. FREE SHOWS FREE SHOWS There was a large attendance at the free shows at the Electric Theatre, sponsored by Windsor merchants, on Wednesday afternoon and night. Another free show will be given next afternoon and night.

NUISANCE ORDINANCE The city council passed a new ordinance relating to nuisances and their supression. This ordinance published elsewhere in today's Gazette. WINDSOR WINS FROM SULLIVAN NAW, IT DIDN'T MUCH, IT DIDN'T IT HURT 1 Obituary Esquire F. M. Perryman Esquire Francis Marion Perryman age 94, poet and writer, died at his home in Oconee township Wednesday, He was a justice of the peace for fifty years. He gained fame from his book on "Pioneer Life in which was widely circulated. Mr.

Perryman was born on Mitchell Creek, April 16, 1836, and had -lived in Shelby county all his life. His onehundred page book, "Pioneer Life in brought him great notoriety. He had a humorous philosophy of life and was a born actor, altho he never put his talents to real use. However he appeared on the platform at Lithia Springs chautauqua several years ago.Among some of his poems were "Billy and the "The Bear Chase," "Hospitality," "Religion," "Party Prejudices," "The Greed For Wealth." Samuel T. Williams (Copyright, W.

N. Samuel' T. Williams, born and reared in Ash: Grove, died Feb. 23 in a hospital at Denver, according to word rereived by J. F.

Clawson. Mr. Williams was about 65 years old. He left this community in 1887. His mother was a Woolard.

In his boyhood he made his home with Mr. Clawson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Clawson.

Mr. Williams's wife was Miss Elizabeth Linebaugh, also of this community. She died five years ago. Mr. leaves two brothers, Madison and Levi.

Shelbyville made a field goal right at the last and thus won. NPR Gays and Lerna At 2:00 Gays and Lerna are to play this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. CLUBS AND LODGES Sunshine Club Mrs. Sarah K. Wallace was hostess to the Sunshine, Club: Wednesday afternoon, the 'meeting being held in Munson's hall, which was nicely decorated.

County. Notes Circuit Court In Session Judge Jett of Hillsboro held.a short, session of court Monday afternoon. In the case of the Citizens State Bank of Windsor vs. Pugh Snell and the Shelby County State bank, Judge Jett decided in favor of the complainant and granted a decree of foreclosure. In the case of the Shelby County State Bank vs.

Ralph Hubner, the bill was dismissed and the court held that Hubner had paid full value for the property. IN KANSAS, LEGISLATURE Charles Curry of Cheyenne county, Kansas, who was born and reared in Ash Grove township 60 or more years ago, is now serving his fourth term as a member of the Kansas legislature. He is a democrat but was elected in a strong republican district. Mr. Curry also served his county as superintendent of schools- three times by election and once by appointment.

He went to -with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Curry, about 1885 and has not visited here in recent years. Mr. Curry is a nephew on his mother's side of F.
