James May first started working with Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear over two decades ago in 2003 - but it looks like they won't work together anytime soon.

Top Gear and The Grand Tour star James May has admitted that his collaborations with Clarkson's Farm star Jeremy Clarkson could be at an end. Alongside Richard Hammond they have presented hugely popular motoring shows together since 2003.

With the latest series of The Grand tour on Prime Video set to be the last James feels that viewers have no interest in watching the pair do anything else. "I think people would only really like us doing cars, despite what some people say - ‘Oh, I think you should all go off and do cooking or you should all go and do a podcast about nothing.’" he told Unilad earlier this week.

Despite his reticence to work with Jeremy it appears there are no hard feelings between the pair. Just a few days ago the 61-year-old was spotted alongside Jeremy and Richard enjoying a pint outside a pub in the sunshine.

Jeremy posted a clip of the get together to his Instagram account commenting: "I’m in a time warp.” Jeremy opened up about the end of the Grand Tour in January claiming that he could no longer do it because he was "fat and old".

Speaking to The Times, he explained: "I've driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We've done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.

"(The show) is immensely physical and when you're unfit and fat and old, which I am ... Camping in Mauritania was a stretch."

Richard and Jeremy begain hosting Top Gear together in 2002 before being joined James from 2003 to 2015. The trio then went on to host The Grand Tour from 2016 having left the BBC.

The latest series of the show Sand Job saw the trio following in the footsteps of the Paris-Dakar Rally.
