Call out hypocrisy all you want, but there's a time and a place, and the time is not in the middle of an active fricking war that's displaced millions in a couple months, and while there's an active misinformation campaign to deny open war crimes and cultural erasure. All imperialism is bad, be skeptical of the powers that are using the crisis as a proxy war, but focus your energy on who's the worst offender of the day, and who's committing the most obvious imperialism at the moment. Otherwise you risk making a distraction that works in favor of the imperialist of the day.
Well this is why I largely subscribe to anarchist political theory. My concern is not full-hearted engagement with the political structures of entrenched neoliberalism, and expecting to have any significant impact there. My concern is building community support and mutual aid networks that exist outside of the state, contribuiting what little I can as an individual in my workplace or community. That way I have a lot more agency in helping people out than I could ever hope for with engagement with a political system orchestrated by the state.

If you've been to downtown anytime in the last two weeks or so, you'll find this description is completely inaccurate. The protests have quieted down significantly, people are walking around normally (for a pandemic at least), and only a few businesses are still boarded, mostly banks and jewelry stores, aka the literal pearl-clutchers.
